Lamonby Verges - a final visit

This was our sixth visit of the year and probably our final one as the flowers are going over. It's going to be really interesting to look back at how this site has changed over the year....another blog at some stage, to sum it up, is required! Lots of things are going to seed and it was particulalry nice to see all of the yellow rattle seeds heads ...and to hear them rattle. The species that are out now are favouring a purple/blue hue in amongst the frothy meadowsweet.

Peacock.

Field gentian.

Harebell; knapweed; betony; marsh fragrant orchid; meadow crane's-bill; red clover;
greater burnet; water mint; tufted vetch; devil's-bit scabious; ragged robin and red bartsia.

Rosebay willowherb ...I like the out of focus umbellifers!
