Longsleddale - Grey Crag and Tarn Crag

An early start to ensure we got a parking space  (never want to drive that raod again!)...and then straight up Great Howe (the path goes straight up from the gate at the parking) and onto Grey Crag and Tarn Crag. Good views and you could see both the Blackpool tower and Ingleborough. It was hot, as predicted, but there was plenty of water running off the fells and the plateau between the two Crags was damp....it's amazing to think how much water the peat is holding and certainly 'slowing the flow'. The bog asphodel was still out and there was a lot of it.
On  the way up Great Howe.

Snoozing on the top of Tarn Crag.

Gorgeous waterfalls on a beatiful day.
