Having found a marsh fritillary catterpillar at Eycott earlier in the year, we decided to try to see an adult at the site (again). This time we were successful. The meadows were stunning - more ox-eye daisy was out that previously, but I spent most of my time stood by patches of ragged robin, hoping to see and photograph either a marsh or small pearl-bordered fritillary. It was hot and sunny, so everything ws flying very quickly!

A rather tatty marsh frit ...but a marsh frit, none the less! |
