July moth trap

With glorious weather we had to trap - I had to get up at 3:50 though to cover up the trap as the sun was rising - a spectacular red sky in the east but I really couldn't be bothered to take a photo! 35 species, with the most abundant being the buff ermine (22). The highlight ...difficult to say - but good to have a new species (awaiting confirmation) of the least minor....UPDATE - it's a middle barred minor ...oh well we shall keep trying|!

Coxcomb prominent.

White ermine.

Burnished brass.

Garden tiger.

Light emerald.

Pebble prominent.

Poplar hawk.

Coronet.

Large elephant hawk.

Least minor.

Least minor warming up - but with a 5p for scale.
