Borrowdale...

A walk from Ashness Bridge, along the raod towards Watendlath through the woods ....what a lovely walk at this time of year. Lots of birds calling: Pied Flycatcher, Siskin, Gold Crest, Long-tailed Tits, Blue, Great and Coal Tits, Dunnock, Black Cap, Willow Warbler, Chiff Chaff, Blackbird, Mistle and Song Thrush, Greenfinch, Blackbird, Robin, Nuthatch, Buzzard, Wren, Chaffinch, Goldcrest, Cuckoo, Redstart, Greater-spotted and Green Woodpeckers and apparently a Wood Warbler. We've been using the Merlin App to help learn and identify the different bird calls - it's slow progress but I'm gettign there. We haven't counted Wood warbler on our list as we didn't recognise the call independently.

Lucious greens....

Ash layers within the boulders.

Bilberries looking good!

Surprise View.

Cuckoo!
