'The Guaranteed Otter Walk'

..and so it remains! Parking up at Ballygrant we walkes along the track and around, on the new bit of path, Lossit Lodge. Then down through the woods - lovely deep blue Bluebells, and down to the shore. We have walked along the coast (south) about 16 or so times and always seen one or more otters. The terrain is rough as there is no proper path along the shore but it's a great walk.

Beginning to drop down to the shore.

The coast...

Superb patterns on the pebbles of the raised beach...

The weather looked a bit 'iffy' but the rain held off...

Signs of Otters....

Spot the Otter!

...then it began to swim towards us ....

..and towards us - sadly it came ashore beneath the farside of the rock I was hiding behind - otherwise there'd have been some brilliant photos!

One of the working Calmac ferries!

..and the sun came out....

Oystercatcher nests...

..and warm sunshine - timed perfectly for the slog back up the hill!
