Gannets gelli print

Inspired by our trip to Bempton and the acquisition of a very large gelli plate I decided to focus on gannets ...the print area is A3 and printed onto A2 sheets - which when your studio is the kitchen doesn't leave a lot of room to work!

The plate with hand-cut stencils and progressive layering. 














































While the layers gave lots of interesting and bold designs, eg the bottom right above, it was the combination of the usual prints with ghost prints that proved most successful.

These were hand coloured with watercolour....
