Lamonby verges: marsh fragrants

A sunny afternoon, so off to Lamonby to see how the fragrants were coming on. There were lots of tall, sturdy fragrants which looked like marsh fragrants, together with lots of greater burnet, saw-wort and meadowsweet.

The verges are really growing up now - lots of meadowsweet.

Greater burnet and meadow sweet.

The verge.

What is most likely to be chalk fragrant orchids.

Probable marsh fragrants - very robust and wide-lobed.

Small skippers.

Betony.

Greater burnet; goat's beard and sneezewort.
