Saltwick Bay...fossils and jet

A quick nip down to Saltwick Bay, after we'd managed to get the tents down in the 50mph winds. It was remarkably calm on the beach as the wind whistled above us. A more scientific fossil blog is on its way! 

Saltwick Bay and a great wave-cut platform. There was a continual tinkle of collapsing cliff! 

Belamnites.

Using carborundum paper to test for jet. The rusty orange is the higher quality.

I was kind of distracted by photogrpahing anemones...



and burnet moths...
