Whitby Wool-Carder Bee
Whilst making a quick trip into Whitby, Tom was delighted to spot some wool-carder bees (Anthidium manicatum)- a particularly charismatic species! The wool-carder's were found on a large patch of lamb's ear in a planted bed just below Whitby's famous whale-bone arch. Tom had been searching for this species for the last two years, so to unexpectedly find and photograph this large solitary bee was a true delight.
