Pen y ghent - Ring Ouzels and Purple Saxifrage

A glorious day and some spectacular views. Our annual pilgrimage to see the purple saxifrage was well worth it and we were bob-on timing wise. As well as  the purple saxifrage another highlight was a flypast, several times, of a pair of fighting male ring ouzels. The immature bird was the looser and he kindly stayed around to be photographed. Hence the lack of a distinct white bib.

Lambs.....

..and even time for field sketching ...in the sun!
