Robin Hoods Bay to Ravenscar

A very pleasant walk at low tide along  the beach...not a lot of fossil finds but a beautiful light and lovely to see people out enjoying a bit of freedom - not too crowded at all.

There have been plenty of recent cliff falls.

Devil's toe nails (Gryphea) and ammonites.

Septarian nodules where the limestone has shrunk allowing calcite to fill  the cracks.
The left hand one reminds me of Matisse's 'Dancers'.

Bright colours and reflections.

Fulmars.

There wasn't much in any rockpools on the beach, mind it really gets hammered by the sea all the time.

There were some good accumulations of coal - with some jet in the pools.
