Two year's ago I took a needle felted purple saxifrage ball down to Pen y ghent, only to find that the felt for the flowers was the wrong colour..... This year I took a new ball down with two different purples on it and it worked much better - the darker purple was good for in areas of sunlight and the paler purple for shaded areas. However, having used the glue gun to attach the flowers rather than needling them in meant they were a bit too flattened and the ends of the petals were too rounded! Guessing a return trip will be required next year - and if I start now I might have the patience to cut really small flowers! An ongoing project!
