Eycott Hill and Marsh Fritillaries.

It may feel like spring, but you go out and it certainly doesn't feel like spring. The other day I had a walk out onto Cumbria Wildlife Trust's Eycott Hill reserve. There were some good views, inbetween the snow, sleet and hail showers! The highlight however, was finding a marsh fritillary caterpillar ....so cute and an important record as they were first recorded there last year.

Snow showers!

Towards Carrock Fell.

Sharp Edge onto Blencathra.

A splash of colour ...parsley fern.

Meadow pipit.

..and a treasured couple of minutes watching this marsh fritillary caterpillar trundling across the path.
