Tom has managed a cracking day out - although I love the north I have to admit being envious of the southern flora!
From Tom: Just scraped in the nice weather I went walking from Glynde to Lewes across Lewes Downs (Mount) Caburn NNR in search of burnt-tip orchid. The site supports one of the largest colonies of burnt-tip orchid in Britain- a true spectacle.

Plenty on the wing: holly blue, dingy skipper, small heath. Also seen were common blue, red admiral, peacock and painted lady. |
