The Nab

Well finally another Wainwright ticked off for the dog! We did try for The Nab before click here ,but were unsuccessful because of the weather - at that time though we didn't realise that access from Martindale is more or less forbidden....other wise we may well have gone for it! Anyway, yesterday was a repeat assault in lovely dry, sunny weather - which is to be recommended as the peat hags on The Nab were extensive. So we parked at Deepdale, just beyond Patterdale, up to Boredale Hause and then onto Angletarn Pikes then across to the wall on the flanks of Rest Dodd, before descending onto the Nab and then returning back over the side of Rest Dodd and back via Brock Crags. This leaves Rocky the dog, with the following Wainwrights to do:  Sallows, Sour Howes, Lingmoor Fell, Troutbeck Tongue, Loughrigg and Holme Fell. While The Nab is only a small fell, it was a 12 mile walk with plenty of ascent!

Looking across to Helvellyn andCatstycam.

From Red Pike and Brothers Water to Helvellyn.

Looking through the wall on Rest Dodd towards Carrock Fell.

Looking down on The Nab.
