Last weekend Tom went to the site of Denbies Hillside in the Surrey Hills in search of man orchid- a new species:
I found a single bank with around 15 man orchids perfectly in flower, with some flowers yet to open and some with the basal flowers just going over. This bank also had bee orchids and pyramidal orchids just coming into flower and was alive with butterflies- especially brimstones.
